1. Brazil. Angela "Original Artwork and Handwritten Song, Circa 1912 Autograph Book Poetry Leather Manuscript" Circa 1912

£195.00

"An autograph book begun in 1912 by Myfanwy Price, a girl who knew the authoress Angela Brazil. Brazil's post-school education was at Heatherley School of Fine Art in London, where she studied with her sister Amy. Angela Brazil has painted a watercolour, signed by her, of a fetching snowy mountain scene. On the opposite page she has written:  ""The Way to Calais  It's along way to get to Calais It's a long way to go. It's the wrong way through little Belgium. It's the wrongest way we know! Goodbye Kaiser Billy! Farewell Oh Mein Heir! It's a long way to St. Helena, But your home's right there.  Angela Brazil"".  Angela Brazil used the name' Myfanwy' in her book 'A Fourth Form Friendship' so her friend could enjoy seeing herself in one of her books. Her sister Amy has also added a charming watercolour of children at the seaside and signed it.  There are numerous other paintings and written entries possibly by prominent people. Welsh artist, L W Clayton hand draws her name plate. The leather book is 14 x 8 cm and is a wonderful opportunity to not only have 2 autographs but a painting and poem as well! "
